What does your body reveal about you?
Our bodies are a collection of our personal beliefs and values, and they don't lie - period!
You say you value the bench press over all other exercises? It's shows in your rounded upper back posture, shortness of your pec's, arms hanging in front of your body, excessivly internally rotated, etc... Easy to spot without a word spoken!
This discussion could go in alot of directions. From physical development, to posture, gait, disease, injury history, etc.
For example, a disease is many circles is believed to be a 'dis-ease' we have with certain aspects of ourselves. The symptom, the dis-ease, is a signal to address this issue within one's self. There are some great books available if you wish to investigate this further.
However, I'm going to keep it light and fast focusing on what a persons body reveals about their training, for people involved in physical preparation. That's anyone that trains professionally (eg: in pro sport), competitivly (eg: compete seriously as a amatur) or recreationally (eg: at the gym a few day's a week).
Lets look at one aspect of the way you stand:
1. What direction do your feet point when standing?
2. Are they even left to right or is one side pointing our more?
3. Is one foot in front of the other?
4. By how much?
5. Is you weight on your heels, forefoot or evenly distributed?
Based on your bodies response to such questions, what's your body revealing to you right now?
Now project forward in your training, are these revelations going to help or hinder your injury status and performance/s down the track?
If solutions are required, how will you select the most appropriate one/s?
You've now probably got more questions than answers, which is one of our focuses at KSI. Teaching you how to think instead of what to think!
